Come and Eat: a Celebration of Love and Grace around the Everyday Table by Bri Mc Koy

Come and Eat: a Celebration of Love and Grace around the Everyday Table by Bri Mc Koy published by Nelson Books wants to spread a powerful message of brotherhood, kindness and positive vibes passing through God's Word and one of the most christian genuine spirit: Hospitality.

This "trip" of Mrs Mc Koy is simply funny, because at the beginning she told she wasn't in grade to cook anything.
Slowly slowly she started not only to prepare delicious meals, but she also started to look at her table under another aspect: the one of conviviality, the one of sharing her food with others.

The message of a table and a lunch or a dinner in fact shared with someone else is more profound than what we can think about.

It's powerful, because it gives us the possibility of embracing new friends everytime because each person is in grade to add value to our existence and vice-versa.

Bri traveled the world in the poorest areas of the Planet and you will find touching examples of her meals shared with the poorest people of the Planet.

As told by Mc Koy meals, a table and new potential friends and connections can be found everywhere, in every corner of the Planet. In a bar, a cafe, wherever there is possibility for socialization.

It's important to be sociable with our neighbors, creating new connections, building up new friendship if we are somewhere else and we don't know anyone because friendship can be helpful in many different ways and can help us for our personal spiritual growth.

This book is rich of yummy recipes! and permeated by God's Word.

I was attracted by this book because in our family Hospitality is very important and wagons of people eat at our table, bringing joy, creating memorable moments and memories, in particular during spring and summer-time.
Food and hospitality sometimes are powerful connections between different cultures, customs.

My mom's ability for baking and cooking helps a lot as well :-)

Hospitality is important because there is more than a touch of divine in this action of sharing our meals with other ones.
It's the essence of civility this one of being opened with the others.
Christianity remarks the importance of sharing with unknown people meals like also the necessity of being opened, welcoming strangers, embracing people in need.

They're not rich people the ones God is interested in but poor and marginalized ones.

Highly recommended for sure!
